Hopelessly Inspired.

It is no secret that I am a hopeless romantic. I fall in love with all things about life, and travel heightens those experiences, making me fall in love with life even further. But, this time of year is especially romantic. The stores are ready for Valentine’s Day, and there’s the cold chill in the air that makes you want to cuddle up in the arms of a loved one. Everything about February evokes feelings of first love.

I’ve always been inspired to travel, and fall in love, by movies, and while I posted a list of five travel romance movies in October, the list has grown over the past few months.

Maybe not all of them are perfect love stories, but these are stories of romance taking place all over the globe. Once in a while, you just need a good love story, and if it’s set somewhere exotic and far away from home, it’s even better. So, whether you have a valentine or not, if you love travel these movies will make you fall in love with the world, and love, all over again.

Inspired by Paris.

This week’s inspiration is Paris. It’s one of the most romantic cities in the world, and lately, it’s been on my mind. Day and night, I seem to dream of walking the city streets and overlooking The Seine, sitting in Ladurée eating macarons, lounging in a park reading a book, eating fresh bread with cheese and a glass of wine, kissing someone under The Eiffel Tower. No matter what I do, I can’t seem to get The City of Lights out of my head.

Bermuda.

For me, each day brings something that inspires me to travel. Whether it’s a television show, movie, song, story, poem, picture, or video, I am always looking for the next place to day-dream about until I am able to actually visit. I would spend my life traveling the world if I could, and until that can happen, I surround myself with sounds and visuals that motivate me to get closer to that dream.

Since this is something I do on a daily basis, I thought that it might be fun for me to have an “Inspiration of the Week” on my blog. This will allow me to share what inspires me, while hopefully, inspiring you to leave the comforts of home and hit the road.

Five Travel Romance Movies.

A few weeks ago, I wrote about travel romance. And, I still can’t help but think about the person I met, even though it’s been almost three months. While it’s easier to not think about him every day, I occasionally think of what could have happened had we had more time together. What if I didn’t have to leave when I did? What if I stayed and traveled with him? This was something I couldn’t have done at the time, so there’s no point in what-ifs, but I still think about it. What can I say, as you’re well-aware at this point, I’m a hopeless romantic. I fall head-over-heels instantly, and there’s no helping me from there.

But, I realize that it’s not just me. The world we live in has convinced us that we can go away to a foreign country and fall in love. In my post about travel romance, I blamed Elizabeth Gilbert’s Eat Pray Love, but the other night, while flipping through channels, I realized it’s on a much greater level than just that. Under the Tuscan Sun was on, and that’s when it hit me. It’s not just Gilbert, it’s the entire planet screaming it in our faces that it’s completely normal, acceptable, and plausible to fall in love in a foreign country with a beautiful man. Hmph. No wonder I meet someone every time I travel…
